Jaspe fabric is woven on back strap looms after threads are tie dyed. The jaspe tie-dying method has been handed down for generations in Mayan villages of Guatemala. It takes five people two weeks to get a Jaspe warp onto the loom. The entire village helps with the process, even grandmothers and small children. Read about it here
